8. Unpacking
• Open the packaging and carefully remove the prod-
uct.
• Remove the packaging material, as well as the pack-
aging and transport safety devices (if present).
• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
• Check the product and accessory parts for transport
damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must
be informed immediately. Later claims will not be
recognised.
• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the
warranty period.
• Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the
operating manual before using for the first time.
• With accessories as well as wearing parts and re-
placement parts use only original parts. Spare parts
can be obtained from your specialist dealer.
• When ordering please provide our article number as
well as type and year of manufacture for the product.
m WARNING!
The product and the packaging material are not
children's toys! Do not let children play with plas-
tic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of
choking or suffocating!
9.
Assembly
m WARNING!
The cutter bar is very sharp. To avoid serious injury, the
blade guard must always be fitted to the blades when
the product is not in use. Wear thick protective gloves
when handling the blades. Keep away from the blades
during operation!
ATTENTION!
Due to the heavy product weight, we recommend that
at least three people assemble the product.
Ensure that the Bowden cables are not broken or dam-
aged by being crushed, pulled or the like.
Place the product on a level, even surface.
Tool required:
• 2x Open-ended spanner, 13 AF*
• Pliers*
* Not included in the scope of delivery!
9.1 Fitting the wheels (7) (Fig. 3)
1.
Place the axle cover (7a) on the drive axle. The
narrow side must face the product.
2.
Place the wheel (7) on the drive axle, align the
holes and secure it with the bolt (7b).
3.
Repeat the process on the other side.
9.2 Fitting the cutter bar (8) (Fig. 4)
Note: Wear protective gloves when handling the
blades!
1.
Align the holes in the cutter bar (8) with the holes
in the gearbox unit.
2.
Secure the cutter bar with the M8 x 25 mm hexago-
nal bolts (8a) and the M8 hexagonal nuts (8b). Use
two 13 AF open-ended spanners for this.
9.3
Fitting the guide rail (10) (Fig. 5)
1.
Remove the pre-assembled hexagonal bolts (10a),
the washers (10b) and the hexagonal nuts (10c).
Use two 13 AF open-ended spanners for this.
2.
Fit the guide bar (10) to the product and align the
holes.
3.
Secure the guide rail (10) with the previously re-
moved hexagonal bolts (10a), washers (10b) and
hexagonal nuts (10c).
9.4
Fitting the handlebars (12) (Fig. 6)
1.
Align the holes in the handlebar (12) and the holes
in the guide rail (10).
2.
Secure the handlebar (12) with the hexagonal bolts
M8 x 25 mm (11a) and the hexagonal nuts M8 (11b).
Use two 13 AF open-ended spanners for this.
9.5 Installing the Bowden cable for the mow (8)
(Fig. 18, 19, 20, 21)
1.
Attach the Bowden cable to the corresponding
device on the handlebars (12) using the lock nuts.
2.
Hook the upper end of the Bowden cable onto the
drive lever (cutter bar) (1). Use pliers if necessary.
3.
The V-belt must be tensioned when the drive lever
(cutter bar) (1) is depressed. Check the tension of
the V-belt by pressing with your thumb; the V-belt
should only give slightly. Note: To operate the
drive lever (cutter bar), first pull the bracket of the
switch-on safety device (cutter bar) (1c) towards
you.
4.
Set the lever on the lock nuts (cutter bar Bowden
cable) (1a + 1b) accordingly. Use two 13 AF
open-ended spanners for this.
