Error diagnosis

Only the green LED will light up if the system components and power supply have been correctly
connected. A red LED indicates the presence of an error which can be pinpointed with the aid of
the LED.

not being used
Both of the two
The transmission line is faulty or has

If the error is not related to the system's wiring, the proper functioning of the electronics can be
tested by connecting a 8.2 kΩ resistor to each of the SKL inputs on the ISK 74-31 evaluation
electronics (terminals Stationary OPENING or Closing) and to the SPK 12 coil core (terminals
3, 4 and 5, 6). If the electronics work perfectly when performing the test, all of the safety contact
edges must be checked using an ohmmeter. To do so, the relevant cable connecting the SKL to
the evaluation electronics or the SPK 12 coil core must be disconnected and connected to the
ohmmeter. The resistance must be 8.2 kΩ ±200 when the safety contact edge is inactive and
must not exceed 500 Ω when it is active.
** If both of the LEDs for the moving SKLs (Transmit Opening and Transmit Closing) light up, the
inductive transmission system is faulty. The most frequent cause of these faults is inadequate coil
core connections, incorrectly installed cable system components (see IKS safety transmission
system assembly instructions) or an unreliable and low supply voltage.
The maximum resistance value of the cable loop must not exceed 3Ω The resistance value
can be measured by disconnecting the steel cable from the ground terminal and measuring the
resistance between the end of the steel cable and ground terminal.
Error
Check connections and supply voltage:
- 24 V AC/DC on terminal 24V AC/DC or
- 230 V AC on terminals PE, L1 and N
Tolerance range: ±10%
- Check the connections of the relevant contact
- Check safety contact edge(s)*
Any contact edge contacts that are not being used
must be permanently bypassed using one of the
supplied 8.2 kΩ resistors
- Check the mech. assembly instructions (ISK cable
- Check transmission coil cores for wear
- Check cable circuit; make sure that both
- Check cable / gate body contact points
- Check supply voltage**
- Check the connections of the relevant contact
- Check safety contact edge(s)*
