RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Carry out the scheduled maintenance operations. This has the aim of keeping the engine
in the best efficiency conditions for a longer service life and a constant maintenance of the
safety requirements.

Those who perform engine
maintenance operations must follow all
the precautions needed to guarantee
the safety of the people involved, in
compliance with the requirements
laid down in the applicable legislation
regarding safety at the workplace.

Use the prescribed tightening torque of
the components.
CAUTION - WARNING
Do not use caustic solutions on any
engine component and its accessories,
in order to avoid negative chemical
reactions causing sudden degradation
and corrosion of the engine component
parts.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION
Before starting maintenance operations
on the engine, remove the engine
ignition key and always wait at least
6 minutes before disconnecting the
negative battery cable.
Place a written warning near the engine
ignition key switch, such as: "do not
start the engine - maintenance in
progress". Then remove the warning
when maintenance operations are
completed and restore the main power
connection (negative battery cable).
Before reusing the engine after work,
remove and thoroughly clean any
foreign material deposits on the
engine components or in the engine
compartment to avoid malfunctions,
damage and related risks (e.g. fire).
