WARNING:
Routine maintenance should only be performed by facility-authorized personnel.
Repairs, modifications, or upgrades must be performed by Hillrom authorized
personnel. Patient or caregiver injury or equipment damage can occur.
The Yellofins Apexrequires an effective maintenance program. Allen Medical Systems,
Inc. recommends that you do annual preventive maintenance to make sure that the
Yellofins Apexhas a long operational life.

Inc. if you need to repair or replace the Yellofins Apex. Use the contact information from the

3.6.2

Periodic Checks

Perform the periodic checks at least once annually. If the Yellofins Apexfails any of the
periodic checks, contact Allen Medical Systems, Inc. to repair or replace the Yellofins
Apex. Use the contact information in "Device Maintenance:" on page 27.
Before you do the periodic checks, install the Yellofins Apexon a surgical table. See
"Initial Setup" on page 15.
Lithotomy Clamp:
1. Grasp and firmly squeeze the lithotomy
handle.
2. Move the Yellofins Apexthrough the full range of motion. Make sure that you do
not feel any binding or catching in the joint while you move the Yellofins Apex.
• Raise the Yellofins Apexto the highest position.
• Move the Yellofins Apexfrom maximum adduction to maximum abduction
• Lower the Yellofins Apexto the lowest position.
• Move the Yellofins Apexfrom maximum adduction to maximum abduction.
