Switching On the Instrument

Risk of instrument damage
Before switching on the R&S ETC, make sure that the following conditions are
met:
● The R&S ETC is set up as described in chapter 1.
● Signal levels at the input connectors are all within the specified ranges.
● Signal outputs are correctly connected and are not overloaded. In particular,
do not exceed the maximum permissible reverse power allowed at the RF
outputs.
The values are specified in the data sheet. Failure to meet these conditions
may cause damage to the R&S ETC or other devices in the test setup.
Switching on the R&S ETC
1. Make sure that the R&S ETC is connected to the AC power supply (see chapter 3.2).
2. Press the AC power switch on the rear panel into I position (see chapter 2.2.1).
3. Press the on/standby key on the front panel.
The R&S ETC starts booting.
After booting is completed, the main screen of the R&S ETC is displayed, and the
R&S ETC is ready for operation.
The configuration settings that were active before the R&S ETC was last switched off
are automatically restored.
