4. Safety precautions

1.
This appliance is for domestic use only.
2.
Only use this appliance for the purpose described in the operating instructions.
3.
Ensure that the mains voltage in your house corresponds to that specified on the
appliance's rating label.
4.
To avoid electric shock, never immerse electrical appliances and their parts in
water or other fluids.
5.
Always remove the plug from the socket to remove the appliance from the mains,
never pull on the mains cable.
6.
Do not allow the mains lead to hang over corners (trip-wire effect), sharp edges
or hot surfaces.
7.
Always use the appliance with care.
8.
Always be especially careful when using the appliance near children.
9.
Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
10.
Never use the appliance outdoors.
11.
Never allow the base, the plug or the mains lead to become wet.
12.
Ensure that the appliance is cool before cleaning. Remove the plug from the
mains after use and before cleaning.
13.
Never transport the appliance when hot or full.
14.
Never operate the appliance when it is empty.
15.
The water container should only be used with water (not milk, etc.).
16.
The base unit may only be used when dry. If water is spilt onto the base unit,
proceed as follows:
Disconnect from the mains supply
Dry the base of the water container with a dry, absorbent kitchen cloth
Dry the surface under the base unit
Replace the plug in the mains socket.
17.
Do not fill the water container whilst it is on the base unit.
18.
Only fill the water container up to the fill level mark, otherwise boiling water will
be ejected.
19.
Please note that hot steam will escape from the water container's steam outlet.
20.
Insert the steamer ring before heating the water.
CAUTION: danger of scalding

Only use the appliance with the correct base unit.
22.
Only use the supplied accessories and original replacement parts.
23.
Do not under any circumstances attempt to repair the appliance yourself, and
never use it with a defective plug or mains lead, or when it is not working
correctly or is damaged in any other manner. Send or take the appliance to an
authorised dealer or directly to the manufacturer. Repair attempts carried out by
unauthorised persons will invalidate the warranty.
We will not accept liability for any damages caused in the event of intentional
alienation or misuse.
