ALWAYS ASSIST YOUR CHILD WHEN
GETTING INTO AND OUT OF THE
CHILD RESTRAINT.
!
NEVER LET YOUR CHILD LEAN ON THE
ARMREST WHEN GETTING INTO OR
EXITING THE CHILD RESTRAINT TO
PREVENT THE SEAT FROM TIPPING.
!
ENSURE
RESTRAINT IS LEVEL, STABLE AND DOES NOT ROCK
SIDE-TO-SIDE. IF THE CHILD RESTRAINT IS NOT
STABLE, TRY ANOTHER SEATING LOCATION.
!
DO NOT ADD ANYTHING BEHIND OR UNDER THE
CHILD RESTRAINT.
Harmony Juvenile Products recommends keeping your
child in a forward-facing car seat with a harness until
they reach the top height or mass limit allowed by your
car seat's manufacturer. Once your child outgrows the
forward-facing car seat with a harness, it's time to travel
in a booster seat, but still in the back seat.
Transport Canada recommends that children under the
age of 13 years be placed in the back seat of the vehicle
and away from active front airbags.
According to accident statistics, CHILDREN ARE SAFER
WHEN PROPERLY RESTRAINED IN THE REAR SEATING
POSITIONS THAN IN THE FRONT SEATING POSITION.
Please study the section "Vehicle seating positions".
Many local police and fire departments frequently hold
safety inspection events to ensure that child restraints
are properly installed. Please contact your local emergency
services department to see if and when they offer this service.
