12.4 Start device
• Once you have prepared the working area and the hot air welder in accordance with the description, connect the
hot air welder to the mains voltage.
• Switch the wedge welder on via the main switch (19).
• Defi ne the welding parameters for drive, air temperature and air volume on the respective Potentiometer (30,
33, 36).
• Now switch on the heating [Direct heating button (35)].
12.5 Welding sequence
Preparing for welding
• Make sure that the welding temperature has been reached before commencing work (LED stops fl ashing). The
heat-up time is 3 − 5 minutes.
• Now carry out test welds in accordance with the welding instructions of the material manufacturer and/or national
standards or regulations and inspect the results. Adjust the welding profi le as needed.
Commence welding
• Pull the hot-air blowers lock (15) lever, lower the hot-air blowers (10) and guide the welding nozzle (9) be-
tween the overlapping sheets up to the stop.
• The drive motor starts automatically as soon as the hot-air blowers (10) are engaged.
Guiding the device during the welding process
• Use the guide bar (22, 24) or the carrying handle (5) to guide the hot air welder along the
overlap, while continuously noting the position of the track guide roller (16).
• Avoid applying pressure to the guide bar (22, 24) during the welding process as doing so
could lead to welding faults.
12.6 Finish welding
• After fi nishing welding, pull the hot-air blowers lock (15), extend the hot-air blowers (10) up to the stop and
swivel them upwards until they engage.
• Afterwards, swivel the track guide roller (16) upwards.
12.7 Switching off device / Maintenance
• Use the Direct heating button (35) to switch o the heating so that the welding nozzle (9) cools down.
• Now switch o the device with the main switch (19) and disconnect the power supply cord (1) from the
electrical network.
• The blowers switch o automatically after approx. 6 minutes.
• Wait until the device has cooled down!
• Check the power supply cord (1) and plug for electrical and/or mechanical damage.
• Use a wire brush to clean the welding nozzle (9).
