including cables, bus-bars, junction boxes, socket outlets and
permanently connected equipment in the fixed installation.

4 Principles of measurement

The ISO-TECH IMT-3300 Continuity, Insulation, Loop and RCD
Tester performs four electrical functions. Each function has its
own measurement principle as follows:
4.1 Continuity
As a continuity tester the instrument can be used to measure
low values of resistance between two points in an electrical
circuit. In this mode, the instrument acts as a low voltage
current source. The resistance is calculated from the
measurement of voltage across and the current through
the conductor and displayed directly on the meter. To avoid
measurement errors, ensure the instrument has a good low
impedance connection to the circuit under test. Circuits
connected in parallel with the circuit under test may affect the
accuracy of measurements.
