Press the POWER button.

Select a source by turning the MULTI JOG knob.
DVD
HDR/VCR
SAT
MD/CD-R (Digital input only)
FM (or AM) (Analog input only)
AUX
Alternatively, you can press the corresponding buttons on the
AMP (or TUNER) BASIC page of the remote control unit.

When DVD, MD/CD-R , SAT or AUX is selected, press the
DIGITAL INPUT SELECT button to select "OPTICAL1",
"OPTICAL2", "COAXIAL" or "ANALOG" in accordance with
your connection.
Alternatively, you can press the INPUT SEL button on the AMP
ADVANCED page of the remote control.
If a digital input source indication ("OPT 1", "OPT 2" or
"COAX") blinks on the display:
A digital input source is selected, but the source isn't
connected or is not switched on.
In that case, connect and switch the source on, or select
ANALOG by pressing the DIGITAL INPUT SELECT button.

Play the source, and gradually turn up the volume to the
required level with the MASTER VOLUME control.

Recording a Source

You can record a source such as a Compact Disc onto an MD or
CD-R or cassette recorder connected to the MD/CD-R REC jacks
or the DIGITAL OUT jacks.

Turn the MULTI JOG knob to select the source to be recorded.

Start recording.
