Available Surround Modes (2)
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II gives you multichannel surround sound
from any stereo source.
< DOLBY PRO LOGIC II will not work on monaural source.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II MUSIC
The Music mode creates a rich and enveloping surround
ambience from stereo sources such as CDs.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II MOVIE
The Movie mode is optimized for movies or programs with Dolby
Surround soundtracks. This mode is also appropriate for use with
video games.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC II EMULATION
Similar to the surround effect of DOLBY PRO LOGIC.
DOLBY 3 STEREO
Front speakers receive surround speaker's signals in addition to
front speaker's signals.
This mode improves imaging without the use of surround
speakers.
THEATER Surround
This mode provides a three dimensional effect similar to that of
movie theater.
With this mode, you can enjoy a surround effect similer to Dolby
Surround sound even when playing a video program which is not
encoded with the Dolby Surround system.
HALL Surround
When playing recordings of live music, this mode provides a
feeling similar to actually being in a concert hall.
When this mode is selected, the normal program source is
directed to the main speakers and a reverberated sound is
directed to the surround speakers.
This mode is suited to program sources which contain a large
amount of reverberation.
STADIUM Surround
The reverberation of this mode produces a sound field which
recreates the sound of a stadium.
DISCO Surround
Gives a greatly expanded feel to powerful music such as dance or
rock.
STEREO
Sound is output from front speakers.
If you select STEREO during playback of DVD recorded with
DTS or DOLBY DIGITAL, the multi-channel sound is downmixed
to 2 channel.
Stereo mode is also entered when you plug in the headphones
or press the STEREO button (on the AMP ADVANCED page of
the remote control unit).
