4.
Ensure that the carrier plate is inserted.
The handles of the carrier plate must fit precisely in the corresponding two aper-
tures of the lower part of the baking pan, otherwise the appliance cannot be
closed and rotated.
Caution: To avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance, never operate
the appliance without the carrier plate inserted!
5.
Apply heat-resistant vegetable oil to the inside of the baking pan. Use a
pastry brush or a paper towel, if necessary, to do this. Alternatively you can
spray the inside of the baking pan with a cooking spray (available in special-
ist shops or supermarkets).
6.
Prepare the desired cake batter. You will find recipe ideas starting on page
26. For a cake in the Kuchenbäcker, please use 6 heaped tablespoons of your
current dough.
7.
Plug the mains plug into an electrical outlet (230 V~, 50 Hz).
8.
The orange indicator lamp lights up and shows that the appliance is in opera-
tion.
9.
After 2 to 3 minutes the green indicator lamp lights up and indicates that
the required temperature has been reached.
10. The ideal baking temperature is reached after an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
Then put the prepared batter into the lower half of the baking pan, e.g. with
a ladle. Always ensure that you correctly dose the amount of batter. If you use
too little batter the upper part of the appliance will not sit correctly; in this
case the cake will not be as brown on top as it is on the bottom. If you use
too much batter the excess batter will overflow and adhere on the appliance
and the countertop. The amount of dough required depends on the recipe
used. Tip: Make a note of the amount of batter used, so that you have the
suitable amount of batter on hand the next time you bake. Only the lower
part of the baking pan should be filled with batter to just below the edge,
because the batter expands when baking.
11. Ensure that batter does not drip onto the pin in the middle of the baking
pan. If a some batter does adhere on the pin, please remove it carefully with
a damp paper towel before closing the baking pan - danger of burns!
12. Close the appliance and with the handle turn the baking pan 180° clockwise.
Then hold the pan in place briefly so that the dough is distributed properly.
