7. Maintenance and disposal

Through regular maintenance, the unit and the reusable
accessories should be kept within the required status
specified in the technical data, and the functionality and
safety should be guaranteed at least until the next
maintenance deadline.
All maintenance work must be documented in the
logbook.
Technical inspections
Safety
To prevent accidents from occurring due to aging, wear
inspections
or functional failure of medical equipment, it is
necessary to perform inspections regularly. The
KAUTER N surgical unit must inspected at least once
every 2 years.
The EN 60601-1 standard applies for performance of
the safety inspections.
Of particular concern during KAUTER N inspections
are:
• Visual inspection of perfect condition of unit and
