Effective protection of the unit and accessories from
damage also includes, besides proper operation and
maintenance, safe storage of the unit. This means
protection from moisture, contamination and contact with
flammable or explosive materials.

Do not roll up the cable tightly, or kink or fold it.
Pull out only by the plug and never by forcefully pulling
the cable out of the socket on the surgical unit.
Only use the unit with an undamaged power cable.
Repairing the power cable with bandage tape is not
permitted.
The unit housing should only be cleaned and disinfected
using nonflammable and nonexplosive agents. Make
certain here that no moisture penetrates into the unit.
Cautery electrodes
Always store in such a way that the tips are not damaged.
These electrodes are stored and transported most
practically using slipped-over pieces of silicone tubing
or in special boxes.
Do not clean and store electrodes together with other hard
or pointy instruments.
Do not bend or change the shape of the electrodes since
the cautery wire may otherwise break off.
