4.6 Starter System Test Results

If testing vehicle equip with charging regulated
system and battery is fully charged an accelerating
engine rpm can not be detected by system (because
alternator automatically switched off for reducing fuel
consumption). In this case charging system test is
impossible.

Press E to proceed with the charging system test,
press  to print the test results, press MENU to
return to the Menu.
Message Action to be taken
CRANKING NORMAL The starter voltage is normal and the
battery is fully charged.
LOW VOLTAGE The starter voltage is low and the
battery is fully charged.
CHARGE BATTERY The starter voltage is low and the
battery is discharged. Fully charge the
battery and repeat the starter system
test.
REPLACE BATTERY Battery must be replaced before the
starting system can be tested.
NO START No vehicle start detected.
CRANKING SKIPPED A start was not detected.
SIDE POST Test data was inconclusive using
the side post. Retest using side post
adapters.
JUMP START POST Data was inconclusive using the Remote
post. Retest at the battery terminals.
