Controller Installation
Terminals 13 and 14
Install a water meter in the pipeline and connect it to
terminal 13 and 14. The output of the water meter must
be an impulse signal. The time between two impulses must
not exceed 5 minutes. The DataModule can handle up to 10
impulse per second. Select a water meter appropriate for the
expected flow. The flow can be viewed with the LORENTZ
PumpScanner software.
Terminals 15 and 16
This is an external 24 V-supply which can be used to power
additional sensors. The voltage has a common ground with
water sensor, sun sensor, pressure sensor and water meter.
Do not connect loads which need more than 30 mA ( 750
mW).
Terminals 17 and 18
This terminal is used as a service-interface only. The proces-
sor system can be started and connections with PumpScan-
ner can be realized for inspection purposes.
Never connect anything while controller is connected to
power-source. Do not connect sources with a voltage above
24 V.
CAUTION – Only connect a suitable sensor
to terminals 5 and 6 / 9 and 10 / 11 and 12.
Never create a short circuit. Observe the
polarity of the pressure sensor.

8.5.7 Solar panel for Sun Sensor

WARNING – To avoid multiple starts
of the pump in twilight conditions, the Sun
Sensor must be installed and configured
according to COMPASS data. Multiple
starts due to an incorrectly configured
SunSwitch can lead to increased mechani-
cal wear and damage the pump. Such
damage is excluded from the warranty.
The PSk2 controller is supplied with a special small 1.5 Wp
PV module (pre-wired for crimping). This PV module is
used to measure the solar irradiation and allows you to set
irradiation dependent START / STOP values for the pump.
These settings can only be done via LORENTZ PumpScanner.
(Please check LORENTZ partnerNET and the PumpScanner
manual).
WARNING – Do NOT use any other PV
module than the one supplied or the PSk2
controller may be damaged.
Mount the PV module with the same alignment as the solar
array that powers the pump system. For example, if the
solar array is tilted at an angle of 20°, the PV panel for the
Sun Sensor should be tiled exactly the same. You can ensure
this by mounting the PV module on the frame of the PV
module array. Take care of correct polarity.
WARNING – Voltage reversal of the
Sun Switch panel will lead to damage of
the controller.
