8.5 Wiring the Controller

WARNING – All electrical connections must
be performed by qualified experts only!
Unqualified handling might lead to shock,
burns, or death.
WARNING – Beware of high voltage.
Never work on a system connected to
power or within two minutes after
disconnection to avoid electric shock
hazard.
Before starting to work on the electrical system make sure
that all components are disconnected from the power
source. Do not work on any components when power is
connected or within five minutes after disconnection. The
controller needs time to discharge.
Switch the system on only when all work is completed.
CAUTION – The controller should only be
connected to power after correct wiring or
the controller might get damaged.
CAUTION – Do not install disconnect
switches in the power wires between the
motor and pump controller. Connecting the
motor wires to a switched-on controller
may cause irreparable damage. Such
damage is excluded from the warranty.
CAUTION – Do not connect any additional
electrical load to the PV generator except
the LORENTZ pump controller. They might
interfere with the PSk2 controller and will
prevent it from proper operation.
Do not connect anything to the controller
output L1,L2,L3 except for a suitable pump
motor. Otherwise the controller and the
connected device will get damaged.
CAUTION – Measure the voltage before
connecting power to the controller.
Voltage (open circuit) must not exceed 850
V DC. Even in cloudy weather, the open
circuit voltage will be near maximum
(refer to "Table 5: Technical data of PSk2
controller" on page 24).
Controller Installation

8.5.1 Sensor terminal type

These terminals use tension clamp technology which allows
for faster termination of system wiring.
Strip the insulation from the end of the cable to be terminat-
ed, for 2.5 mm² clamps strip 10 mm / 0.4" of insulation.
To install the wires push a flat screw driver downward
into the terminal block. Push the stripped cable into the
terminal. When the screwdriver is removed a high contact
force is supplied by the stainless steel clamp. Gently pull
the cable to check it is secured, cf. "Figure 9: Double stage
terminal" on page 26 and "Figure 10: Clamp cable
fixing" on page 26.

8.5.2 Power terminal type

In PSk2 controllers, screw type terminals for cables up to 35
mm² are used to connect the PV power connection (POWER
IN+, POWER IN-), the pump motor wiring (Pump L1, Pump
L2, Pump L3) and the protective earth connections. The
cable entries are at the side of the terminal.
To install the wires open the terminal clamps completely
with a screw driver, push the stripped cable into the terminal
and use the screwdriver to tighten the screw properly. (cf.
"Table 1: Tool list" on page 3)
