Operation

CAUTION!
❐ Never hold the nozzles close to parts of your body or animals during use and do not place
your hands inside the nozzles. You could become caught in the device or injure yourself. If
the vacuum cleaner gets stuck to something, switch the device off immediately (press the
On / Off switch (17)).
❐ Switch on the vacuum cleaner only when you have checked that all the parts have been
properly attached and that the dust container, the cyclone insert and the fi lters are correctly
inserted.
❐ To ensure that the cable does not become hot during operation, pull it out to at least two
thirds of its total length from the device before you switch on the vacuum cleaner. Do not
pull the cable out forcefully to its maximum length (no further than the red marking on the
cable) in order to prevent damage!
❐ Always switch the device off fi rst and unplug it from the mains socket before you replace a
nozzle or insert or remove any attachment!
❐ On no account should the device be used to suck up the following:
– Liquids or wet substances (e. g. wet carpet shampoo)
– Glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
– Infl ammable or explosive substances
– Very fi ne dust (e. g. concrete dust), ash or toner
– Pointed, hard objects such as large pieces of broken glass
1. Ensure that the attachments are correctly attached to the device (see the "Assembly"
chapter).
2. Pull the mains cable out of the housing as far as you require, ideally up to the yellow marking,
but no further than the red marking on the cable!
3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed mains socket that is easily accessible.
4. Press the
On / Off switch (17) down to switch on the vacuum cleaner.
5. Guide the nozzle over the surface to be cleaned. The vacuum cleaner can be pulled along
like a sledge during cleaning.
6. Press the
On / Off switch down again after you have fi nished vacuuming in order to switch
the vacuum cleaner off.
7. Remove the mains plug, hold the mains cable fi rmly and press the
the cable (14) down with your foot. Holding the mains cable prevents any "whiplash" effect
of the cable, e. g. against your legs.
The handle has an exhaust air valve (2). Open it (by sliding the
cover), to reduce the suction strength. The exhaust air valve
should usually be in the closed position so that suction strength
is not reduced unnecessarily.
Open the exhaust air valve when vacuuming upholstery, carpet
or easily moved objects.
