● Comfort and bypass units: In
place of the G4 filter, the
outside air channel has an
F7 filter for greater protection.
A filter replacement prompt
is displayed on the room
air control every 3 months.
We recommend replacing
the filter every 6 months
at the latest. Filter replace-
ment is simple and
requires no tools.
● Only use original air filters.
● For reasons of hygiene, the
air filter should be replaced
before starting the unit up
after it has been switched off
for some time, for example
before starting to heat again
in the autumn.
3.3 Cleaning, maintenance
● Disconnect the ventilation unit
from the mains supply before
carrying out any cleaning and
maintenance work - switch off
the mains fuse at the fuse box.
● Fit a warning notice on the
fuse box to avoid the unit
being accidentally switched
back on.

3.4 Installation, connection

● Installation is only permitted
when carried out by trained
specialists in accordance with
WS 170 installation
instructions, Chapter 1.1.
● Electrical connections and
repairs are only permitted
when carried out by trained
specialists.
● The ventilation unit may only
be started up if installed
correctly in accordance with
the enclosed installation
instructions.
3.5 Regulations for operation
with fireplaces
3.5.1 Ventilation requirements
of fireplaces
WS 170 ventilation units may
only be installed in rooms,
apartments or user units of a
comparable size, in which air-
ventilated fireplaces are
installed if:
1. a parallel operation of air-
ventilated fire-places for liquid
or gaseous fuels and the air-
extracting equipment can be
prevented via safety devices,
or
