12 Cleaning / maintenance

12.1 Safety instructions
Cleaning
Clean and/or maintain ventilation
unit at least every 2 years.
Never operate ventilation unit
without air filters. Only use origi-
nal air filters.
Risk of injury due to running
fans: Before removing the front
cover, wait until both fans have
stopped.
Danger from electric shock:
Before removing the front cover,
disconnect the ventilation unit at
all poles from the power supply,
secure against being accidentally
switched back on and position a
visible warning sign.
Danger of burning from hot
housing parts on units with
PTC heat register: Do not touch
the heat register. Wait until the
heat register and the housing
parts have cooled off.

12.2 Changing air filter

When a filter change is imminent, the
i
ventilation level II LED on the simple
control unit flashes regularly at longer
intervals.

12.3 Cleaning condensate drain and
siphon – every 2 years –

Fill the siphon up with water after
i
longer dry periods too.
1. Switch off ventilation unit with main switch,
disconnect at all poles from the power
supply, secure against being accidentally
switched back on and position a visible
warning sign.
2. Tilt front plate forwards at the two top
corners (magnets [M]) and remove from
above.
3. Loosen the 4 screws on front cover (bayo-
net closure) and take off front cover. Note
information on sticker.
4. Remove deposits from condensate drain
area and flush drain pipe. The siphon must
be filled with water so that the ventilation
unit does not draw in false air.
5. Insert front cover in bottom housing rail,
close and secure with 4 screws (bayonet
closure).
6. Fit front plate in the two lugs [L] and close
(magnets [M]).
7. Switch on the ventilation unit.
