Additional functions

 Select the desired Access level startup by rotating the op-

Authorization level

The function is shown using the example of Welding Supervi-
sor (Level 8) and WPS Welder Basic (Level 2).
Welding Supervisor log-in:
‰ In the standard setting, the unit starts in Level 8 (Welding
Supervisor), in this case you can skip the next 2 points.
 Hold the NFC card Welding Supervisor (Level 8) to the NFC
read area A43.
9 The code nFc appears in the left-hand 7-segment display
A4. After approx. 3 sec., the code oK appears in the right-
hand 7-segment display as log-in confirmation.
 Set the desired material/wire/gas combination, welding
process, main and secondary parameters. (The setting val-
ues are applied for the WPS Basic user)
WPS Welder Basic user log-in:
 Hold the WPS Welder Basic NFC card (user level 2) on the
NFC read surface A43 for at least 3 sec.
9 The code nFc appears in the left-hand 7-segment display
A4. After approx. 3 sec., the code oK appears in the right-
hand 7-segment display as log-in confirmation.
‰ The values set by the welding supervisor (material/wire/
gas combination, welding process and secondary param-
eters) cannot be changed. The main parameters can only
be changed by the percentage stipulated in the Parameter
Limits (standard values 10%).
Should these restrictions still exist for the WPS

Basic user after switching the device off and on,
then the Access level startup must be set to 2.

Automation

For the welding units in the automation sector (jigs, robots)
the menu point "M8 Automation" is available. Here you can
carry out incorporation and setting of external communica-
tion systems.

on Page 50.

Additional functions
Gas test
 Press the Gas test button A14.
9 The Gas test LED A15 lights up and the solenoid valve con-
nects.
‰ The gas supply can be checked/adjusted. The function re-
mains active for 30 seconds and is then ended automati-
cally. The gas test can be aborted by pressing the Torch
button or by pressing the Gas test button again.
Fan test
 Turn on the equipment using the main switch 11.
9 The fan starts up briefly for a function check.

User Interface test

 Press the Crater filling A2 and Gas test A14 buttons simul-
taneously for 2 secs.
9 All 7-Segment displays and symbols light up for approx. 4
seconds. After this the display changes back to the display
mode.
