Push Pull (optional)
A Push Pull Torch / aux. drive can be operated on the unit with
the Torch / aux. drive function.

Push Pull Preparation (Hardware)

With factory fitted or retro-fitted Push Pull
i
i
preparation (hardware),
– if just the menu point analogue Push Pull (1)
is available in the menu M4-8 Torch / aux.
drive,
– you need to establish and set two parame-
ter values for the connected Push Pull torch
Setting Analogue Push Pull Torch
Push the wire infeed button and check the wire feed direc-
tion of the unit and the Push Pull torch. Both feeds must
transport in the same direction.
If necessary, change the wire feed direction of the Push
Pull torch in menu M4 settings under the menu point Ana-
logue PP Direction.
Set the wire feed speed of the Push Pull torch in menu M4
settings under the menu point Analogue PP Adjust.
Here the following applies:
– Low value = low speed
– High value = high speed
– If there is slip in the wire feed on the Push Pull torch,
or if the wire abrasion is too great, the speed of the
Push Pull torch must be reduced
– If the wire builds up between the feeds, the speed of
the Push Pull torch must be increased
10.2

Push Pull Upgrade

With the additional Push Pull Upgrade
i i
– many supported Push Pull torches are avail-
able in the menu M4-8 Torch / aux. drive
– the wire feeds of the selected Push Pull
torch and the unit are synchronised
If not already fitted, install the Push Pull Upgrade.
See chapter "12 NFC Functions" on Page 42.
After a Push Pull Upgrade you need to load the
i i
display texts of the Push Pull torch just once.
Loading the text can be carried out by chang-
ing the language (menu M3) or by a master
reset (startup menu). The unit must then be
restarted (switching off/on).
See Chapter "7 Main menu" on Page 36 and Chapter "19
Main menu table" on Page 50.
See Chapter "8 Startup Menu" on Page 36 and Chapter "20
Startup Menu Table" on Page 55.
02.20
Selecting the Push Pull torch
Select your connected Push Pull torch/aux. drive in menu
M4-8.
See Chapter "7 Main menu" on Page 36 and Chapter "19
Main menu table" on Page 50.
‰ If you select a supported Push Pull torch (2...31), no further
settings are required.
‰ If the Push Pull torch you are using is not present, use the
torch analogue Push Pull (1).
See chapter "Setting Analogue Push Pull Torch" on Page 41.

Push Pull potentiometer torch

i i
The potentiometer is used to regulate the main parameter
wire feed speed. In the welding process Synergic and Speed-
Arc the display can be selected to show the main parameters
welding current and material thickness.
9 The current value, limited by the potentiometer, is dis-
played in the left-hand 7-segment display A4.
Rotate the rotary button A41 by one position (one stop).
9 The maximum settable value on the potentiometer, is dis-
played for 2 secs.in the left-hand 7-segment display A4.
Turn the rotary button A41 further within this 2 sec. period.
9 The maximum settable value is displayed and changed in
the left-hand 7-segment display A4.
‰ The minimum setting value on the potentiometer is lim-
ited in the welding process Synergic and SpeedArc of the
welding programme or in the manual welding programme
by the minimum unit setting.
‰ Under a limited authorization level (e. g. WPS Welder), the
minimum and maximum settable value depends on the
value of the prescribed parameter limits.

Make sure that the potentiometer on the
torch is not set to minimum when the unit is
switched on. Otherwise the potentiometer
will not be recognised by the unit and remains
without function.
