Welding circuit resistance

measurement

Use the welding circuit resistance measurement function to
compensate for the voltage drop e.g. with long hose packs.
If you are working to the welding instruc-
i i
tions in our EN1090 WPS Booklet you will
not be able to use this function. The voltage
values displayed do not apply in this case.
11.1

Activating welding circuit measurement

 Press the Menu A50 button.
9 The main menu is displayed in the graphic display A52.
 To select the Settings menu, turn the operating button
A49.
 Confirm the menu point by pressing the operating button
A49.
 Select the Compensation Mode menu.
 Confirm the menu point by pressing the operating button
A49.
9 You are now in menu M4-18 Compensation Mode.
 Select „Welding circuit resistance" and confirm by pressing
operating button A49.
9 LED F2 A59 lights up.
 To exit this menu, press the Menu button A50.
9 This returns you to the Settings menu M4.
 Select the Welding circuit resistance menu item.
9 Pressing the operating button A49 activates Measuring
Mode and „---" appears in the parameter display A57.
 Remove the gas nozzle from the torch.
 Cut the welding wire flush and retract approx. 5 mm.
 Place the current contact pipe in a clean spot in the seam
area, applying gentle pressure. Press the torch button for
2 seconds to start measurement.
9 If the measurement is correct, the measured value appears
in the parameter display A57.
 Confirm the menu point by pressing the operating button
A49.
‰ If it is not, the message „H44" appears and then „---" again.
 Take the measurement again.

Deactivating welding circuit
measurement
 Press the Menu A50 button.
9 The main menu is displayed in the graphic display A52.
 To select the Settings menu, turn the operating button
A49.
 Confirm the menu point by pressing the operating button
A49.
 Select the Compensation Mode menu.
 Confirm the menu point by pressing the operating button
A49.
9 You are now in menu M4-18 Compensation Mode.

 Select the "Welding cable length" menu item and confirm
by pressing operating button A49.
 To exit this menu, press the Menu button A50.
We recommend that you take measurements
i i
at various points in the seam area in order to
exclude the possibility of measuring errors.
You can terminate the measuring process at
any time by pressing the Menu button A50.
Welding is disabled when Measurement Mode
is running.

NFC Functions

NFC cards can be read and written to using the NFC read area.
The following functions are available:
– Read-in/installation of welding processes, welding
programmes, special programs (upgrades) or credit
cards
– Log-in of users with different user rights
– Read-in and writing of jobs (all parameter settings for
a welding process/operating mode)
12.1
Installation of upgrade or credit cards
without TAN
Upgrade or credit cards are NFC cards which are cancelled by
an upgrade operation. Such a card may contain one or more
credit values. Each upgrade or each application cancels one
credit.
 Hold the NFC card to the NFC read area A43.
9 The code "Acc" appears in the left-hand 7-segment display
A4.
9 The number of credits appears in the right-hand 7-seg-
ment display A12 (e.g. "001" for upgrade).
‰ In the event of a cancelled NFC card, the information mes-
sage H10 appears in the graphic display A52.
 Confirm the safety prompt in the graphic display A52.
9 The upgrade or credit is installed on the device. The instal-
lation by "---" is displayed in the right-hand 7-segment dis-
play A12.
‰ The installation is complete when the code "oK" appears in
the right-hand 7-segment display.
 Switch the machine on and then off again.
