WARNING

with both hands when you are working,

Before switching on:
► Make sure other persons are out of the gen‐
eral work area.
► Make sure you have a secure and firm footing.
► Stand upright.
To switch the trimmer on:
► Always hold and operate the trimmer with one
hand firmly on the gripping surface (4) of the
rear or control handle and the other hand
firmly on the loop handle.
► Unlock the retaining latch (1) by pushing it for‐
ward with your thumb. Hold it in this unlocked
position.
► While holding the retaining latch, squeeze the
trigger switch (2) with your index finger.
The cutting attachment will start moving.
The motor will not switch on unless the retaining
latch is pushed forward and the trigger switch is
pressed at the same time. Once the trigger
switch is activated, you may release the retaining
latch. Holding the Ergo-Lever (3) down keeps the
trigger switch unlocked.
If you release the trigger switch and Ergo-Lever,
you have to unlock the tool again with the retain‐
ing latch.

Switching Off
WARNING
■ The cutting attachment will continue to move
for a short while after the trigger switch is
released. To avoid serious or fatal injury, avoid
contact with the moving cutting attachment. To
reduce the risk of personal injury from uninten‐
ded activation or unauthorized use, switch off
the motor, ensure the cutting attachment has
stopped and remove the battery before trans‐
porting or putting the trimmer down.
To switch the trimmer off:
► Release the trigger switch and Ergo-Lever so
that the trigger switch springs back to the
locked position. In the locked position, activa‐
tion of the trigger switch is once again blocked
by the retaining latch.
The cutting attachment will continue to move for
a short time after the trigger switch is released.
Take care to avoid contact after releasing the
trigger switch and when setting down the trim‐
mer.
16 Checking the Trimmer
16.1
Testing the Controls
Before starting work, confirm that the retaining
latch (1), trigger switch (2) and the Ergo-
Lever (3) are undamaged and functioning prop‐
erly.

WARNING

keep hands, feet and other parts of the body
away from the cutting attachment. Do not
touch the cutting attachment while the battery
is inserted. Never touch the moving cutting
attachment with your hand or any part of your
body,

ft. (15 m) away while testing the controls.
