12 Assembling the Trimmer
12.1
Mounting the Loop Handle
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of injury from loss of con‐
trol, ensure that the loop handle is properly
and securely mounted before starting work.
To mount the loop handle:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,

► Position one clamp (4) in the loop handle (3).
► Position the other clamp (6) against the under‐
side of the drive tube (5) and line up the holes
in the loop handle and clamps.
► Put washers (2) on the screws (1) and insert
the screws through the holes in the loop han‐
dle and clamps.
► Attach the square nuts (7) and tighten
securely. Ensure that the handle is tight and
will not move during operation.

Mounting the Bump Guard
To mount the bump guard:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,

► Insert the ends of the bump guard (1) into the
holes (2) in the housing.
The bump guard does not have to be removed
again.

Mounting and Removing a
Deflector
12.3.1
Mounting the Deflector
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of injury from thrown
objects or contact with the cutting attachment,
never operate the trimmer without a properly
mounted deflector. Keep bystanders at least
50 ft. (15 m) away. When using a deflector
designed for use with a PolyCut mowing head,
you must change the deflector before mount‐
ing the mowing head.
WARNING
■ The cutting attachment and deflector must be
an approved combination. Use only an
approved combination of cutting attachment
and deflector to maximize cutting performance
and reduce the risk of serious personal injury
from thrown objects or contact with the cutting
attachment,

To mount the deflector:
► Switch off the trimmer,
► Remove the battery,

► Push the deflector (2) into the guides on the
housing until it stops.
The deflector must be tight against the hous‐
ing.
