Setting the moon phase display
The moon phase display has a fixed link to the hour hand
and can be adjusted by rotating the hands forwards or
backwards (crown in position 2). The multiplication ratio
is calculated so precisely that the display will deviate
only by a single day after 122 years. Readjustment of the
moon phase display is not required, therefore, for the
entire life of the battery. The moon phase will only require
resetting if the watch is left with the battery discharged
and if its replacement is delayed. It is advisable, there-
fore, to have a spent battery replaced without delay.
Setting your watch correctly
Set your watch correctly as follows:
• With the crown in position 2, set the moon phase dis-
play to new moon by rotating the hands forwards and
backwards.
• Check in a calender for the date of the last new moon.
• Move the moon forwards by one day fewer than the
number of days that have elapsed since the last new
moon. Rotating the hands by 2 x 12 hours will cause
the moon to advance by one day. The moon can also
be turned back by rotating the hands backwards.
• Move the crown to position 1 and use the quick change
function to set the date to the previous day's date.
• Pull the crown to position 2 and turn the hands forwards
until the date changes to today's date.
• The hands will now be positioned between 0.00 and
1.00 in the morning. Now set the precise time by turn-
ing the hands forwards; in the afternoon, the hands
must be turned past 12.00 (noon) once again.
• Now push the crown to position X and secure it by
rotating it to the right at the same time.
Important: Although the watch is water-resistant in
positions 0, 1 and 2, the crown must nevertheless always
be screwed down again for normal use (position X).
