Installation
Installation C - Brake Cable
Clamp
Fasten the traction rope at one side of the
brake rod clamp as shown in fig. C1.
Ensure correct fit of the locking device!
The brake cable clamp is installed as
shown in fig. C2. Straighten the traction
rope by positioning the brake rod clamp
(fig. C3) and tighten the four screws
M10x30 with lock nuts and with a
torque of 53 Nm.
Safety Instructions:
When installing the brake cable clamp, the
hand brake of the overrun device should
not be actuated and the overrun device
should not be in reverse gear position.
The play of the traction rope is only adjusted
by the position of the brake rod clamp and
never by adjustments at the brake system or
the connecting nut of traction rope and central
unit.
Tensioning of the traction rope should never
be executed in such a way that the brakes are
actuated!
A short response time of the iDC requires
correct adjustment of the traction rope.
If the traction rope is readjusted by loosening
the brake rod clamp, use new lock nuts for
the screws.
Ensure that that brake rod and brake rod
clamp are free from oil and grease when
installing the brake rod clamp.
Slipping or loosening of the fastening prevents
proper functioning of the iDC and cannot be
recognized by a self-test. So, the installation
should be effected with utmost care.
Installation D - Sensor
Caution:
Never
use
installation of the sensor.
D-1 at a thrust bearing of 6 mm width
In this case the sensor is already mounted on
the sensor support.
The sensor support is fastened at the
Bowden cables as shown in fig. D1.
Tighten the nuts firmly.
D-2 at a thrust bearing of 8 mm width
Since the thread of the Bowden cables is too
short, here, the sensor support is installed as
shown in fig. D2. Since the sensor is already
mounted on the sensor support for thrust
bearings of 6 mm width (see D1), remove it
and fasten it at the sensor support for thrust
bearings of 8 mm width.
Screw down the sheets of the sensor support
using the carriage bolt and the lock nut.
Tightening torque = 53 Nm
Special Case
In
case
of
tandem
compensation
the
supports cannot be installed near enough at
the axle. In these cases, the sensor must be
fastened directly at the vehicle floor using the
supplied screws 2,9x25.
Before, the sensor must be removed from the
sensor support.
Fasten the sensor approx. 100 mm in
front of or behind the front axle in the
centre of the caravan (fig. D3).
It is absolutely to be observed, that the
sensor is mounted in horizontal position,
since otherwise it will communicate
wrong values to the iDC, which will result
in improper functioning.
