Allow the engine to cool down.
Wear gloves before removing the grass cuttings.
Remove the grass cuttings carefully from:
Air intake area (between the engine cover and fuel
tank)
Air filter element (behind the back air filter cover).
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT
Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.
Loosen the air filter cover by turning the knob
counterclockwise.
Remove the air filter cover.
Remove the air filter and clean it with warm soapy
water. Rinse, and let the air filter dry completely.
Work two drops of lubricant into the air filter.
Replace the air filter (fits only one way).
Replace the air filter cover. Tighten the knob securely.
Replace the spark plug cover.
NOTE:
to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear.
NOTE:
be replaced once each year.
IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
If the cutting attachment turns at idle, the idle speed screw
needs adjusting on the engine, contact a service dealer for
adjustment and discontinue use until the repair is made.
CHECKING THE FUEL CAP
WARNING
A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard and must be replaced
immediately.

REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG
This engine uses a NGK BMR7A or a Champion RCJ6Y
spark plug. Use an exact replacement and replace
annually.
Remove the spark plug cover.

Loosen the spark plug by turning it anticlockwise with
a spanner. Remove the spark plug.
Hand thread the new spark plug, turning it clockwise.
Tighten securely. Do not overtighten.
Be careful not to cross-thread the spark plug. Cross-
threading will seriously damage the engine.
REMOVING AND REPLACING THE PRO-CUT STRING
HEAD
To remove mow ball and string head:
1.
Stop the product and remove the spark plug lead.
2.
Wear gloves to prevent injury from scratched or
damaged string head.
3.
Hold the string head and screw the mow ball
clockwise to remove it (don't loose the bolt inside).
4.
Remove the Pro-Cut String assembly completely
from the hexagonal part of the shaft.
NOTE: If it is impossible to hold the string head by
hand, there is a locking slot and hole in the gearbox
behind the string head. Rotate the slot until the hole is
visible, insert a bar or cross head screw driver into the
slot / hole which will lock the output shaft and aid in the
unscrewing of the mow ball.
To replace string head and mow ball:
1.
Wear gloves to prevent injury from scratched or
damaged string head.
2.
Slide the Pro-Cut String assembly over the hexagonal
part of the shaft.
3.
Ensure the bolt is located inside the hexagonal hole
of the mow ball with the thread protruding from the
underside of the ball.
4.
Hold the string head and screw the bolt and mow ball
together anti-clockwise to tighten it in place.
Before starting the engine, remember to remove the bar
or screw driver if used.
