STARTING AND STOPPING
WARNING
Never start or run the engine inside a closed or poorly
ventilated area; breathing exhaust fumes can kill.
Set the switch to the "I" position before trying to start unit.
Follow the instructions on the machine or described earlier
in this manual.
To stop the engine:
1.
Release the trigger.
2.
Push the On/Off switch to the "O" (OFF) position.
WARNING
Activating the throttle will overcome the clutch
mechanism and the string head will rotate.
Before activating the throttle, ensure you are standing
in the position shown in figure 12, where you are
protected by the grass deflector from flying objects and
debris. Failure to do this increases significantly the risk
of injury.
ACTIVATING THE THROTTLE
1.
Sweep the blocking bar to one side with your finger.
2.
Squeeze the throttle lever slowly while keeping the
blocking bar to one side and then fully depress the
throttle bar.
NOTE: The blocking bar is spring loaded. When the
throttle lever is released, it will spring back into the
blocking position.

CUTTING TIPS

Keep a firm grip with both hands while in operation.
When trimming, keep the mow ball approximately 2 cm
above the ground. This will save unnecessary wear
on the mow ball. Do not tilt the machine to cut higher
than this as the risk of potential injury to operator and
bystander is increased.
If grass becomes wrapped around the string head,
stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and
remove the grass.
Use the tip of the string to do the cutting; do not force
the string head into the uncut grass.

Wire and picket fences cause extra string wear, even
breakage. Stone and brick walls, kerbs and wood may
wear string rapidly.
Avoid trees and shrubs. Tree bark, wood mouldings,
cladding and fence posts can be easily damaged by
the string.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts,
accessories and attachments. Failure to do so can
cause possible injury, poor performance and may void
your warranty.
Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the machine,
shut off engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
disconnect spark plug wire and move it away from
spark plug, allow the engine to cool down. Failure to
follow these instructions can result in serious personal
injury or property damage.
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types
of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their
use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease,
etc.
You may make adjustments and repairs described
in this user manual. For other repairs, contact the
authorized service agent.
Consequences
of
include excess carbon deposits resulting in loss of
performance and discharge of black oily residue
dripping from the silencer. This may increase the risk
of serious personal injury or property damage.
Make sure all guards, straps, deflectors and handles
are properly and securely attached to avoid the risk of
personal injury.
CLEANING THE AIR INTAKE AREA AND AIR FILTER
ELEMENT
To ensure optimum performance, regularly remove grass
cuttings from the machine.
Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.
