5.3 Preliminary tasks for an indoor installation

T
T
DANGER
Fire hazard due to device overload
There is a fire hazard due to overloading of the device
caused by unsuitable circuit breaker and supply line.
f Route the circuit breaker and supply line in accordance
with the technical data.
Î "4. Technical data"
The installation of a device in a supply grid in the
disturbance sources, e.g. a frequency converter,
can cause a malfunction or terminate the charg-
ing process.

5.3.1 Laying the supply line

f Configure the supply line according to the technical
data of the device.
Î "4. Technical data"
When configuring the supply line (cross section
and cable type), give due consideration to the
following local conditions:
„ Type of installation
„ Cable parameters per device length
„ Line length
Approx. 30 cm of cable are required for the sup-
ply line inside the device.
f Lay out the supply line to the desired location. The
device can be mounted on a wall or pedestal from
MENNEKES.
Wall mounted
For mounting on a wall the supply line must be positioned
using the drilling template provided or as shown in Fig.
"Fig. 6: Drilling dimensions [mm]". Cable glands are locat-
ed on the back, bottom and top.
Mounting on a pedestal
If needed, the device can be mounted onto a pedestal.
The pedestal is available at MENNEKES as an accessory.
Installation manual from the pedestal

5.3.2 Route the wire for connecting an external switch-
ing contact
T
T
DANGER
Risk of electric shock due to unsafe isolation
If the external switching contact is not safety isolated from
the voltage supply, touchable components can be under
voltage. This can result in serious injury or death caused
by electric shock.
f Install and connect the switching contact safely iso-
lated from the voltage supply, for example, by routing
a separate insulated cable (NYM).
f Route the cable for connecting an external switching
contact to the desired location.

5.3.3 Providing fuse protection

Circuit breaker
The required circuit breaker must be incorporated in the
indoor installation.
„ The device must protected with a cir-
cuit breaker rated at 16 A or less with
C-characteristics.
„ The circuit breaker must be dimensioned
with due consideration of the name plate,
the required charging power, and the sup-
ply line (line length, cable cross-section) for
the charging station in accordance with the
national regulations.
„ One circuit breaker is required for each
charging point.
