tional documentation for the use of the device.

2.3 Improper use

Using the device is safe only when used as intended. Any
other use and changes to the device is contrary to the
regulations and therefore not permitted.
The operator is responsible for the proper and safe use.
MENNEKES Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG accepts no
liability for any consequences arising from improper use.

2.4 Basic safety information

2.4.1 Qualifications

Some activities in this manual require expertise in elec-
trical engineering. Performing activities in the absence
of knowledge or lack of qualifications can result in seri-
ous accidents and death.
f Only carry out tasks for which you are qualified and
have been instructed.
f Please also observe the instructions for qualified
electricians in this manual.

2.4.2 Proper condition

Damaged device
If the device is damaged or defective, has a defective
housing or missing components, people can be seri-
ously injured by electric shock.
f Avoid collisions and improper handling.
f Do not use the device in case of damage / defects.
f Mark a damaged device to ensure that no one con-
tinues using it.
f Have a qualified electrician rectify the damage with-
out delay.

Improper maintenance
Improper maintenance can affect the safety of the
equipment and cause accidents. This can result in seri-
ous injury or death.
f Observe the maintenance schedule.
f Commission a qualified electrician to perform regu-
lar maintenance.

2.4.3 Observing supervisory duties

Persons, especially children, and animals who are not
fully able to assess potential hazards pose a danger to
themselves and to others.
f Keep away from the device and charging cable.
f Keep animals away from the device and charging
cable.

2.4.4 Proper use of charging cable

Improper handling of the charging cable can cause
hazards such as electric shock, short circuit or fire.
f Do not touch the contact pins.
f Do not use adaptor connectors or extension cables.
f Avoid kinks, sharp edges, loads and impacts.
f Avoid knotting of the charging cable.
f Unroll the charging cable completely when charg-
ing.
f Remove the charging cable only by pulling the plug
from the charging socket.
f If the charging cable is not in use, fit on the protec-
tive cap.
f Do not expose the charging cable to tensile stress.

2.4.5 Keeping order

A charging cable lying around presents a trip hazard.
Objects on the device may fall.
f Minimise trip hazards.
f Stow the charging cable properly or use the cable
holder after charging.
f Do not place any objects on the device.
