3.5.3 Hand start
Ma chines with elec tri cal starter: Never hand start
with a dis con nected bat tery, this leads to im me di -
ate de struc tion of the reg u la tor.
Attention
• Set the en gine speed con trol le ver to full load.
• Ma chines with emer gency-stop-con nec tion :
Press emer gency-stop-con nec tion.
• Ma chines with elec tri cal start :
Turn ig ni tion key via po si tion I.
• Move the decompressor (1) le ver un til it stops in start po si tion.
• In sert the start ing crank (2) and turn it with in creas ing speed.
Af ter start ing of the en gine,
• re lease ig ni tion key.
• Set the speed le ver to idle.
• Al low the en gine to run for 2-3 min utes in or der to warm up.
• By mis fire ig ni tion re turn the decompressor le ver to its ini tial
po si tion and re peat steps 1-5.

3.5.4 Switch ing-off the en gine

Do not switch-off the en gine by full load and don' t
use the decompressor le ver.
Attention
• Al low the en gine to run a short while on idling.
• Set the speed le ver to stop.
Ad di tion ally by electrostart:
• Turn the ig ni tion key to «0» po si tion. (The in di ca tor lamps
should go out.)
The horn will sound if the ig ni tion key is not re turned to
the «0» po si tion; a risk of to tal bat tery dis charge ex -
ists.
Important
• Re move the key.
At the end of a work ing day or a break pro tect the
key from un author ised ac cess.
