4.4. Rope
DANGER: Only the Tractel
the descender is approved for use with the Tractel
derope™ descender. This rope can be supplied in
lengths of 10 to 400 m in accordance with the Tractel
sales conditions.

5. Associated products

5.1. Body harnesses and straps
– Fall arrest harness compliant with standard EN 361.
The person to be rescued must be connected to the
fall-arrest fastening points. A fall-arrest fastening point
is marked with an A when it can be used alone, or
with an A/2 when it must be used in combination with
another fall-arrest point marked with an A/2.
– Safety harness or safety strap compliant with
standards EN 1497 or EN 1498. The person to be
rescued must be connected to the rescue fastening
point identified by a label placed near the fastening
point.
5.2. Anchoring devices
– The anchoring devices must satisfy the requirements
of standards EN 795. These must be capable of
safely handling a minimum load of 10 kN (1 ton).
– The derope™ UP R descender is specially designed
and approved for mounting on a leg of the Tractel
tracpode rigging tripod.
DANGER: Any similar use with a tripod of another
source is strictly prohibited.
5.3. Double in-line pulley
– Pulley equipped with two aligned sheaves, designed
for evacuation on a tensioned rope.
5.4. Multi-anchoring plate
– The multi-anchoring plate is used to fasten several
connectors to a single fastening point. The plate
allows orienting and distributing the load during
rescue operations.
5.5. Drill / Driver
– Minimum 300 W Drill / driver can be used for
derope™ UP to assist the operator during evacuation
from above.
– When using a cordless drill / driver, it must have a
minimum 14 V battery to be powerful enough for this
operation.
