SAFETY WARNINGS AND
PRECAUTIONS
WORK UNDER SAFE CONDITIONS!
The present manual contains important personal safety instruc-
tions and warnings.
INSTALLATION WARNINGS
Caution! – Incorrect installation could cause serious injury to the opera-
tors performing the work. For this reason, all instructions contained in this
manual should be strictly observed during installation.
Caution! – Incorrect installation could compromise the safety of the
operators using the system. For this reason, all instructions contained in
this manual should be strictly observed during installation.
• The MAX line of tubular motors has been exclusively designed to automate
the movement of awnings, roller shutters and sun screens. Therefore any
other use is considered improper and prohibited.
• The installation of the tubular motor must be carried out by qualified Techni-
cal Personnel in accordance with these instructions and the safety standards
locally in force.
• Before proceeding with the installation of the tubular motor, remove all the
cables that will not be used for installation and disconnect all the mecha-
nisms that are not necessary for roller shutter/awning operation.
• Free access to the moving parts of the automation system must be prevent-
ed if the tubular motor is installed at a height less than 2.5 m from the ground
or from any other support allowing access. The system must in any case be
accessible for maintenance purposes.
• When installing awnings, a minimum horizontal distance of 40 cm must be
guaranteed between the fully extended awning and any possible obstacles
that may be located in front of it.
• The tubular motor must not be subjected to crushing, knocks, falls or contact
with liquids of any kind (Fig. 1). Do not drill or apply screws throughout the
length of the "motor casing" (Fig. 2-A); do not introduce pointed objects,
such as screwdrivers, inside the motor's tube, which could damage the
motor and its electrical contacts.
• Do not apply screws on the roller of the roller shutter/awning during installa-
tion, especially in the area where the tubular motor passes through: these
screws could damage the motor.

• The Free-Max power cable is made of PVC and therefore suitable for internal
installations. Therefore if the system is installed outdoors, the cable must be
protected with an insulation tube or alternatively fit a specific model suitable
for outdoor installations equipped with a 05RN-F cable.
• If the Free-Max power supply cable is damaged, the entire Free-Max unit
must be replaced.
• Keep at a safe distance from moving roller shutters and awnings during
installation and programming of the tubular motor.
• Do not use the roller shutters and awnings if window cleaning is being per-
formed nearby, and if an automatic control device is installed the electrical
power must also be disconnected.
• Keep the transmitters out of children's reach. Never allow children to play
with the Transmitters.
MAINTENANCE WARNINGS
Caution! – Keep this manual in a safe place in order to make future pro-
gramming or the maintenance of the product easier.
• Regularly check the balance springs and the wear of cables (if these mecha-
nisms are present) and request the assistance of Qualified Technical Person-
nel only for maintenance and repair if necessary.
