Installing the headsail winch
Variant I
One sail winch for both foresail sheet ropes
Lead each sheet rope through the deck bush-
ing to the servo board.
Wrap both sheet ropes twice around the drum
in the same direction. Make note of the direc-
tion in which the winch turns. Also use the
remote control to set the mainsail winch to
completely lower and inserts the drum into the
winch. Now pull the winch in and wrap up both
sheet ropes.
Screw in the winch into the front, middle open-
ing (variant II) and the side position (variant I)
in the servo board.
Also attach jib hanks at the front end of the
sheet ropes and hang each sheet rope on the
corresponding clew.
Variant II
Updated June 2016
Two sail winches for the mainsail, one for port
and one for starboard. This is the original way
the sheet ropes are run. However, the bigger
remote control is needed for this.
Make sure here that the remote control has 2
slide controllers to control the mainsail sheet
rope.
The way the sheet ropes are run on the deck is
also more elaborate.
The components, such as double blocks, eye-
bolts and tackle lines are not included in the
fittings kit and must be purchased separately.
Prepare both sail winches by fastening the
sheet rope line item 171 on the drum and
wrapping it round twice. Also use the remote
control to set the winches to completely low-
ered and insert the drum. Then pull the winch
in and so wrap the sheet rope tight. Incorpo-
rate a small ring on the sheet rope. The port
and starboard sheet ropes are placed on this
ring.
Thread the sheet rope line item 170-1 through
the deck bushings to the servo board and fas-
ten the sheet ropes on the ring.
