Fit the capstan heads.
Bend the crank 192 out of the 1.5 mm brass
wire.
The handle is made from part 193.

Taper the walnut part 198 at the top and bend
and stick in 2 eyelets of brass wire.
12. Setting up the rigs
First a few concepts:
Stays are used to anchor masts and
-
especially solid booms, such as the jib
boom.
-
Halyards are lines for hoisting and
dropping the sail.

Sheet ropes are lines for slackening
and hauling the sail.
Start by assembling the jib boom. To do so,
drill a 2 mm hole at a distance of 90 mm in the
middle of the deck.
Then stick part 142 into the deck with a 2 mm
brass pin. Stick the jib boom into part 142 with
a 2 mm brass pin.
Screw on both jib plates and so fasten the jib
boom.
The cleat to use the jib can also be screwed
onto the jib boom.
Attach the chain of the bobstay 150 and the
prow shrouds. For the prow shrouds, you will
need 2 turnbuckles part 149, the chain plate
part 146 and a steel rope with ferrules.
Attach the parts as shown in the photos.
To put up the mast, first screw on the chain
plates. The front pair is placed parallel to the
mast. The other positions can be seen in the
diagram.
