Whipping twine part 173 is used to attach the
sail and prepare the halyards.
To do so, attach the mainsail to the mast rings.
Next, attach the mainsail to the eyelets in the
upper leech line on the gaff sail boom.
Hang an S-hook item 197 on the peak and
hang the sail on the yardarm fitting of the gaff
sail boom.
Tie the sail on the clew around the bottom of
the main boom and lead a line from the clew
through the yardarm fitting of the boom and
place on a cleat. This allows you to adjust the
tension of the foot of the sail.

Screw in a small eye screw part 167 at the
right place in the boom jaw and tie down the
sail.
Next, attach the headsail.
Start with the foresail.
To do so, first hang the foresail on the foresail
stay using the jib hanks. Connect the foresail
halyard on to the head of the sail. Mount one
block part 162 to the eye screw of the foresail
stay.
Lead the foresail halyard over this block and
attach to the mast foot on the pin rail.
