Programming using the software
• Start the software. When you do this, the marquee does not necessarily have to be
connected to the PC. The connection is necessary only when you want to transfer
the text.
• In the software, you can create various files with texts and store these on your
computer and load them again.
To create a new file, click on the first button that looks like a blank sheet of paper.
To save the current file, click on the third button (diskette). Select a path on your PC,
enter a file name, and click Save.
To load a saved file, click on the second button. Select a saved file on your computer
and click Open.
• You can program up to 26 texts per file. For each individual text, you can select the
way the text should be displayed. You can also set the brightness and speed.
Please note that the LED marquee can only show texts with effect (e.g. from
top or bottom) if the characters used can be shown completely on the dis-
play. If the text is too long, it can only run from right to left.
Naturally, this depends on the characters or letters used. For example, if letter W is
used 8 times, the text can still be displayed with effect. However, if letter W is used
9 times, the text is too long and it runs from right to left. If, for example, only the letter
I is used, the maximum is 14 characters.
The display is capable of displaying All English letters and numbers can be dis-
played on the display, and all those special characters that are displayed in the table
below.
When programming text, the display can show a maximum of 250 characters. If you
are programming text that exceeds 250 characters, it may happen that one or seve-
ral texts are not displayed. Next, reduce the amount of characters in the individual
texts.
• To program a text, click in any "Content" text field (A-Z) and enter the desired text.
Then select the type of display and set the brightness and speed.
For this purpose, it does not matter whether you program 26 texts (A-Z) or only one
or more texts (e.g. in fields C, F and X).
When you close the software, the texts are automatically saved in the de-
fault file and available again when you reopen the software.
• To transfer one or more texts, these must be check the column "Send". Normally,
the mark is set automatically as soon as you click on the text box and enter a text. If
you want to transfer only certain texts, you must runmark the texts which are not to
be transferred.
To transfer the selected texts, click on the button with the envelope and the green
arrow.
In the new window, select the COM port first. Normally the marquee occupies
COM3. If this is already in use, you need to look up the current port in the Device
Manager of Windows
. You can find the Device Manager in the Control Panel under
®
the System item. The relevant device is named "USB-SERIAL CH340".
To transfer the selected texts, click on the button „Send Text". The transfer will be
displayed by way of a green bar at the bottom of the window. Wait until the bar has
disappeared again. If, for example, you transmit just one text, it may be possible that
the bar is only briefly visible and disappears immediately. During the transfer, the
texts will also be displayed briefly on the LED marquee.
Only the texts that are transferred are overwritten or updated in the mar-
quee. All others remain unchanged. If, for example, you first transfer the
texts from A to F and then change the text A and transfer this again, the new
text A and the old texts from B to F are stored on the LED marquee.
You can always transfer only the texts from the current file. However, it is
possible, for example, to transfer the texts ABC from the first file, DEF from
the second file, etc., in consecutive order.
In transfer window you have the option „TCP". However, it has no function in
this marquee and therefore can not be used.
• Now you should decide which texts are to be replayed, how often and in what order.
This is done through the "Run list", in the same window where you have previously
transferred the texts.
Simply enter the letter of the texts that you want to replay into the field. Naturally,
only texts are selected that you also have indeed transferred.
When entering text, type in only the letters without holding the Shift key. The
letters are automatically capitalised.
You can select a specific order and can also replay texts several times. If you enter,
for example, FHHCAA, the text F is displayed first, then twice the text H, once the
text C and twice the text A. After that it will start all over again.
Once you have entered the desired order, click on the button "Send List". Once the
transfer is complete, the marquee should play in the desired order.
• When you have programmed the LED marquee, remove the USB cable from the PC.
Then connect it to the USB AC adapter in order to set the product up at the desired
location.
