Dear customer,
The following hazard information and safety instructions are intended not
only to protect your health but also to protect your device. Please read the
following points carefully:
• The design of the AC adapter complies with Protection Class II.
• The mains socket for the AC adapter must be located in direct proximity to
the device and easily accessible.
• The product and the AC adapter are suitable only for dry indoor areas.
Do not expose product components to direct sunlight, strong heat, cold,
dampness or wetness; otherwise it may be damaged.
The AC adapter poses the risk of a potentially life-threatening electric
shock!
• This product is not a toy. Devices operated using mains voltages should
not be used by children. Position the product so it is out of the reach of
children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.
• Do not pull the AC adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• Do not touch an AC adapter that shows signs of damage; there is a danger
to life from electric shock!
Switch off the power supply to the outlet to which the AC adapter is con-
nected (e.g. switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the
safety fuse and then switch off the corresponding RCD). Now disconnect
the AC adapter from the outlet and take the product to a specialized work-
shop.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
Connection and start-up
• First, fasten the enclosed stand to the LED marquee. Thereto, drive the thread of the
metal pin into the intended opening on the rear side of the marquee.
• Next, connect the enclosed mini USB cable to the corresponding USB socket of the
LED marquee. You will find this on the right side of the product.
• If you are starting up the product for the first time or want to reprogram it, connect
the USB cable now to a free USB port of the computer on which you have also
installed the software and the driver.
• If you have already carried out the programming step and want to set the marquee
up at the location of your choice, connect the USB cable now to the enclosed USB
AC adapter.
Connect the AC adapter to a mains socket.
Operation using the buttons on the product
On the right side of the product, there are 2 buttons and a sliding switch for the basic
operation of the marquee.
• You can switch the product on and off using the sliding switch at the very bottom.
• With one button, you can select the desired pre-programmed text (A-Z).
• With the other button, you can adjust the brightness in 6 steps.
If you press and hold one of the buttons, the current selection or setting is
displayed. As soon as you press one of the buttons, regardless of whether
you hold it or not, the respective setting is already active.
Installation of the software and driver
• The configuration software "LedDisplay2.x" requires no installation.
You can simply copy it from a CD to your computer (e.g. your desktop).
Insert the CD into the appropriate drive of your computer and copy on your compu-
ter the entire directory "Software" which contains the program and the configurati-
on data.
• Driver installation occurs automatically for most computers.
If not already done, connect the LED marquee to your computer and turn it on using
the sliding switch.
In case a Windows
error message appears during the automatic installation of the
®
driver or the marquee is not function properly (transferring the configuration), then
you will need to install the driver from the CD.
Check this also in the Device Manager of Windows
ger in the Control Panel under the System item. After connecting the marquee, there
must be a new, virtual COM port ("USB-SERIAL CH340") available. If the driver is
not installed automatically, an unknown device "USB2.0 Serial" wil be displayed,
for example.
In that case, unplug the USB connector of the marquee from the USB port on your
computer, and reinstall the driver from the enclosed CD. You can find it in the direc-
tory "USB Driver".
Run the file "SETUP.EXE" and confirm, if required, a User Account Control query. In
the new window, click on the button "INSTALL". When the installation is complete,
you can close again the window.
Connect the marquee again to the USB port on your computer.
• If the marquee is not recognized correctly, launch the software directly from your
computer. Just click on the executable ".exe" file in the directory "Software", which
you have copied earlier.
