Control and status messages

The electric security lock 809N can be actuated in different ways.
The electric security lock 809N can be actuated via the OneSystem IO module N5950 (separate instructions
D00852).
The electric security lock 809N can be actuated without an additional control unit („Connection (without
OneSystem IO module N5950)",
additional control unit. Status messages are not sent.
Fail-unlocked and fail-locked in the event of a power failure
The electric security lock 809N can be operated in fail-locked or fail-unlocked mode. The setting takes place
via DIP switches on the lock („Connection (without OneSystem IO module N5950)", page 61).
This results in different function states in the event of a power failure.
In the fail-locked version, the outer door handle is disengaged when there is no electrical voltage supply. In
the event of a power failure, the outer door handle is disengaged, the door can only be accessed on the
controlled side (usually the outside) via locking cylinders.
In the fail-unlocked version, the outer door handle is engaged when there is no electrical voltage supply. In
the event of a power failure, the outer door handle is engaged, the door can be accessed on both sides.
This function may be necessary for free access for the fire brigade and rescue services in an emergency
situation, for example.
Behavior when switching on, switching off and in the event of a power failure
The electric security lock 809N has an electric buffer, which enables a defined coupling state to be entered
in the event of a power failure.
The electrically connected lock („Electrical connection", page 61) is switched on by switching on the
voltage. The lock is ready for operation after 10 seconds. No change in the coupling state is possible before
this time („No reaction to control signal", page 72).
After the voltage is switched off or in the event of a power failure, the electric buffer discharges completely
after 30 seconds.
Carr ying out a voltage reset or switching the DIP switch
1
Switch off the power supply.
2
Wait at least 30 seconds.
3
Where necessary, switch the DIP switch.
4
Switch on the voltage supply again.
5
Wait at least 10 seconds.
 You have carried out a voltage reset.
