Operating the Discharge Tap
There are two possible ways of removing the water from the water reservoir (7) using the
discharge tap (12).
Touch Mode (Picture A1)
1. Press down the lever (13) and keep it pressed down. The discharge tap opens and
water fl ows out.
2. Let go of the lever when the quantity of water you want has been removed. The dis-
charge tap closes again.
Constant Mode (Picture A2)
1. Flip the lever all the way back. It locks in place in this position. The discharge tap
opens and water fl ows out.
2. Let go of the lever again and tip it forwards (do not press it down) when the quantity of
water you want has been removed. The discharge tap closes again.

Preparation

NOTE
• Do not operate the device without water. If this does happen, the heating ele-
ment of the device switches off automatically (protection against running dry).
In this case, allow the device to cool down for around 5 – 10 minutes before
water is poured in and the device is used again.
If water needs to be added, switch off the device, pull the mains plug out of the
plug socket and allow the device to cool down for a few minutes. When opening the
lid (4), use potholders or similar gloves and be careful.

Boiling Water

1. Pour water into the water reservoir (7) (see the "Operation" chapter | "Filling the Water
Reservoir").
2. Move the On / Off switch (8) on the side of the water reservoir to the I (On) position to
switch on the device. The operating lamp in the On / Off switch lights up.
3. Turn the thermostat control (9) clockwise to switch on the device and start boiling
the water. The control lamp (11) lights up. The water carries on boiling until it has
completely evaporated.

Heating Water

If water is just to be heated, boil the water once (see the "Boiling Water" section). As
soon as it boils, turn the thermostat control (9) anticlockwise until it resists. The control
