m) Calibrating the weather station
You can calibrate the weather station if the temperature, humidity or pressure readings are not consistent with a
calibrated reference device (e.g. a liquid glass thermometer). For example: The liquid glass thermometer shows
a temperature of 22.3 °C, but the weather station shows 23 °C. The calibration setting should be -0.7 °C. The
same principle applies for the humidity and pressure readings. Calculate the percentage discrepancy for the other
measurements using a barometer and hygrometer. To verify the precipitation readings, use a container with the same
diameter as the rain funnel (F).
To obtain reference readings for the atmospheric pressure, refer to a local weather report (up to 50 km from
your location). The official pressure reading is normally adjusted to mean sea level (i.e. relative pressure).
If there is a large discrepancy, calibrate the pressure reading.
Follow the steps below to calibrate the weather station.
• Press and hold the TEMP. (7) and MAX/MIN (2) buttons for 5 seconds. The calibration setting for the indoor
temperature will start to flash.
• Press the WIND + (5) or PRESSURE - (4) button to change the setting. Press the ALARM button to reset the
calibration value to zero. Confirm your selection with the SET button (8). The calibration setting for the outdoor
humidity will start to flash.
• Press the WIND + (5) or PRESSURE - (4) button to change the setting. Press the ALARM button to reset the
calibration value to zero. Confirm your selection with the SET button (8). The calibration setting for the indoor
humidity will start to flash.
• Repeat the above steps to configure the calibration settings for the outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, absolute
pressure, wind direction, wind speed and precipitation.
• After calibrating the precipitation reading, press the SET button (8) to exit calibration mode.
Indoor temperature calibration range: ±5 °C (default setting = 0 °)
Indoor humidity calibration range: ±9 %
Outdoor temperature calibration range: ±5 °C (default setting = 0 °)
Outdoor humidity calibration range: ±9 %
Absolute pressure calibration range: ±10 hPa
The wind direction can be adjusted in °
Wind speed calibration range: 50 % to 150 % (default setting = 100%)
Precipitation calibration range: 50 % to 150 % (default setting = 100%)
• Press the LIGHT/SNOOZE button (1) at any time to exit calibration mode.
n) Restoring factory settings
Follow the steps below to restore factory settings:
• Press the TEMP. button to stop receiving an RF signal from the outdoor sensor.
• Press the WIND + and PRESSURE - buttons to delete all readings from the memory. User settings will also be
deleted.
• Press the LIGHT/SNOOZE button for 5 seconds to search for a signal from the outdoor sensor and receive the
latest readings.
