1. Safety Information

Before using these tools for the
first time, please read the
operating instructions carefully.
These provide important safety
information and information concerning
use and maintenance of the tool.
These tools are designed for machining
metallic materials. Specific information on
the machining of individual metallic
materials is not the subject of these
operating instructions. Any other appli-
cation is impermissible and could be
dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be
held responsible for damage or injury
caused by improper use. A damaged tool
could endanger your safety!
Decommission the tool immediately and
contact your supplier. This tool complies
with the prescribed safety regulations.
Repairs must be undertaken only by
trained personnel. Improper repairs can
represent a considerable risk for the user.
Warranty provisions can be implemented in
the event that original Wohlhaupter spare
parts and accessories are used.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe
place for future use.

2. Application

The Alu-Line boring tool can be used for
rough machining (roughing), finish
machining (precision bores) and combined
rough/finish machining (Combi-Line).
Four series are available:
Basic D 60 with a D 60 connection
consists of 4 serrated slides covering the
boring range from Ø 200 – 505 mm
(7.87" – 19.88").
Basic D 40 with the D40 connection
consists of eight serrated slides covering
the boring range from Ø 200 – 840 mm
(7.87" – 33.07").
Eco D 60 with a D 60 connection consists
of 2 base slides and 2 serrated slides (steel
or aluminium) covering the boring range
from Ø 465 – 1,020 mm (18.31" – 40.16").
Flex D 60 with the D 60 connection
consists of four base slides and four
serrated slides covering the boring range
from Ø 500 – 3,255 mm (19.69" – 128.15").
Numerous master shanks, different
precision boring tools, insert holders,
height-adjustable insert holders, axial
grooving units and a large selection of
replaceable inserts are available for the
respective application (see overview on
pages 2 – 3).

3. Operation

3.1 Base slides, serrated slides
A suitable (!) master shank is to be
selected for holding the tool in the
machine. We recommend consulting the
machine and tool manufacturer for this
purpose. The base slide or serrated slide
is fastened to the master shank via a D 40
or D 60 connection.
Basic D 60:
Ø 200 – 505 mm (7.87" – 19.88"):
Individual serrated slides, adjustment of
the add-on tools by means of threaded pin
in the serrated slide.
