1. Safety informations

Before first use of this tool, please
study the information in these
operating instructions carefully.
They provide important infor-
mation for your safety as well as for the
use and maintenance of the tool.
A damaged tool can endanger your safe-
ty and must be taken out of service
immediately. If necessary contact the
manufacturer.
This tool complies with the prescribed
safety regulations. Repairs must be
undertaken only by trained personnel.
Improper repairs can result in considera-
ble danger to users. Warranty provisions
can be implemented only in the event
that original Wohlhaupter spare and
accessory parts are used.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe
place for future use.
When the tool is in use, the values
stated in the technical data (see
Page 7) must not be exceeded!
When our tools are inserted
during rotation, guards must be in place
according to EC Machine Directive
98/37/EC Point 1.4.2.2 B.
Failure to comply with the minimum
chucking depth risks breakage and loss
of accuracy. A chucking pressure check
is advisable before first use, after appro-
ximately 100 tool changes and not later
than every three months.
For this purpose, we recommend intro-
ducing an appropriate test shaft into the
chuck up to at least the minimum chuk-
king depth but better deeper (if not pos-
sible, open the clamping screw wider by
anticlockwise rotation).
The ambient temperature should be 20°C
to 25°C. Screw in the clamping screw up
to the limit stop.
8
If the test shaft can be withdrawn from
the chuck with 2 fingers and relatively
little force, the chucking pressure is no
longer adequate. Do not continue to use
the hydraulic clamping chuck but send it
in to Wohlhaupter for repair.
Note: The test shaft is not included in
the equipment provided, but can be
supplied to separate order.
Allow only technically trained personnel
to fit tools into chucks and to fit the
hydraulic clamping chuck into a machi-
ne, and at the same time ensure compli-
ance with the entire operating instruc-
tions.
During the chucking procedure,
the clamping screw must
always be screwed up to the
limit stop with an allen key.
Technical changes (e.g. additional holes,
thread or attachments) must be made
only after consultation.
The venting screw of the hydraulic
system is sealed by locking resin.
Please do not remove!

2. Application

Apart from their excellent technical
characteristics, the hydraulic clamping
chucks also have the advantage of sim-
plicity of operation and freedom from
maintenance. They are suitable for the
chucking of rotationally symmetrical
tools.
With shank tools, both smooth, cylindri-
cal shanks up to 32 mm diameter, as
well as shanks with recesses according
to DIN 1835 Form B can be used with
the chuck.
The product may be used only
within the scope of its specifi-
cations (see section 3.
Technical Data, Page 7). This
also includes compliance with the condi-
tions for first use, operation, assembly,
maintenance and ambient conditions
