1. Basic safety information

Before first use, please read
the operating instructions
carefully. These provide
important safety information and
information concerning use and main-
tenance of the tool.
This boring tool is designed for finishing
bores in metallic materials. Specific
information on the machining of individu-
al metallic materials is not the subject of
these operating instructions. No other
application is permitted and could be
dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be
held responsible for damage or injury
caused by improper use.
A damaged tool could endanger your
safety! Decommission the tool immedia-
tely and contact your suppliers.
This tool complies with the prescribed
safety regulations. Repairs must be
undertaken only by trained personnel.
Improper repairs can represent a con -
siderable risk for the user. Warranty pro-
visions can be implemented only in the
event that original Wohlhaupter spare
and accessory parts are used.
Keep the operating instructions for use
in a safe place for future use.

2. Application and operation

The boring tools are designed for pre -
cision holes from 20.0 to 205 mm
(.787"– 8.071") diameter. The serie com-
prise of 10 single point boring tools 1,
which can be equipped with insert hol-
ders 2 for different types of indexible
inserts.

3. Tool features

ground alloyed case-hardening steel,

– on the tool end, the tool is serrated for
both frictional and positive engage-
ment of insert holders taking various
types of indexible inserts
– in addition to the insert holders listed
in the standard range, we can also
supply additional holders for various
indexible insert sizes
– standard insert holders can be con -
verted to carry out back boring from
the boring tool 364 033 (365 033).
4. Balancing
The boring tools of the 364 (365)
series are automatically balan-
ced with every diameter adjustment. The
unbalance, which normally occurs when
adjusting the blade holder, is reduced to
a minimum by mass balancing in the
tool.
Any necessary precision balancing can
be carried out on the complete tool with
set screws screwed into extension/
reducing adapters from the outside. This
means that the residual imbalance based
on the complete tool can easily be
achieved for different quality levels Q as
a function of the operating speed.
