Basic D 40:
Individual serrated slides, presetting of the
add-on tools (e.g. insert holder) by means
of threaded pin.

Threaded pin in the serrated slide

Setting element with threaded pin
Eco D 60:
Ø 465 – 1,020 mm (18.31" – 40.16"):
The base slide and the serrated slide are
joined using a groove-and-tongue
connection. Fastening is with four cap
screws and two clamping bolts. The
desired boring Ø is then preset via the
scale.
Flex D 60:
Ø 500 – 3,255 mm (19.69" – 128.15"):
The base slide and the serrated slide are
joined using a groove-and-tongue
connection. Fastening is with cap screws
and clamping bolts (the quantity depends
on the size of the serrated slide). Several
zero scale lines are applied on the base
slide. The allocation of the zero scale lines
to the serrated slides with the respective
boring range is shown on the type plate.
The smallest boring Ø in the respective
boring range is set if the zero scale line (of

the rule) of the serrated slide agrees with
the corresponding zero scale line of the
base slide, and if the respective add-on
tool (e.g. precision boring tool) is at zero.
The add-on tools (blade carriers and
counterweights) are then fastened on all
serrated slides with cap screws and
clamping bolts. Please note: The clamping
bolt must be installed so that the flat part
points in the direction of the screw head.
This principle applies to all clamping bolt
fastening points.
The exact adjustment is made with an
adjusting device, via a gage or via a
distance measurement with the aid of an
auxiliary fixture. With the Eco D 60 series, Ø
presetting via a measuring pin is possible
for Ø 465 mm (Ø 18.3") and larger.
With the Basic D 40 series, there is an
auxiliary bore in the middle of the serrated
slide (axis of rotation) to hold a cylindrical
pin (Ø 10 mm) for Ø presetting.
All parts must be cleaned prior to installa-
tion and then installed in a dry and grease-
free state.
Only original Wohlhaupter clamping
elements are permissible for fastening all
components of this boring tool. See
"Accessories and spare parts" from page
25 for tightening torques.
