KEMPER AirWatch operating instructions - EN

7.4.4 Monitoring a workplace

If the AirWatch is used to monitor a workplace, then we recommend that it be
installed directly at the workplace.
In this case, the closer to the workplace the AirWatch is installed, the more
accurately will this record the loading existing at the workplace itself.
For the AirWatch, monitoring a workplace represents a dynamic loading.

Controlling room ventilation units

7.4.5 Controlling room ventilation units
If the AirWatch is used to monitor a workplace, then it should no longer be used to
control a room ventilation unit, even if this can respond very quickly to a change in
dust loading, as it is too slow even for this purpose.
Again, the AirWatch should never be used as an automatic start-stop, as this is alien
to its purpose!

7.5 Monitoring statutory thresholds

In theory, the AirWatch is suitable for finding a statement of the air loading, in order
to compare this with statutory thresholds and deal with this as appropriate.

7.6 Definition of statutory thresholds

As a rule, however, statutory threshold data is personal. This means that, in the
event that a measurement, for example, is made directly on a person that a dynamic
loading is present at the time of the measurement.
In principle, it is impossible to come to a statement about the situation at an individual
if, say, the AirWatch has been installed at a distance from this person. Even small
distances between person and AirWatch lead to completely different measurements.
Accordingly: When placing the AirWatch in the room and the thresholds present in it
have not been breached, this does not mean that these values are also present, say,
at a welding station in the welder's immediate vicinity!

8 The AirWatch lighting system

On both side elements, there are three warning lamps in each case, which are
arranged in color terms to follow the traffic light principle. Their task is to visualize the
instantaneous measuring situation.
