2 Commissioning

The AirWatch has an extensive analysis and assessment function. This is provided in
the form of a web interface. It is therefore essential for the function that you connect
a WLAN-enabled terminal device with the AirWatch. Compatible terminal devices
are, for example smartphones, tablets or even computers and notebooks with
integrated WLAN function.
N.B.: Before first commissioning, ensure that the WLAN stick supplied is plugged into
the USB interface provided for this purpose!
Install the AirWatch at its point of use, observing
in the accompanying instructions.
Connect the device with the power supply. Use the enclosed cold-device plug for
this.

2.1 Types of connection

Three different types are available for the AirWatch function:
Integration in an existing network infrastructure via WLAN
Integration in an existing network infrastructure via a wired network
Use of the AirWatch as a separate WLAN access point
However, for selecting the type of connection, you must connect a WLAN-enabled
terminal device (smartphone, tablet, computer) with the AirWatch first. This is done
as follows:
− Place the AirWatch at a suitable point.
− Now connect the mains lead (and optionally a network cable) with the device and
ensure that the WLAN stick supplied is plugged into the USB socket provided for
this purpose. Without this stick, the initial - configuration cannot be executed.
− Now switch the AirWatch on via the master switch.
