3.1.6 Switching HazMat mode off
1. Switch the communication unit off.
This resets the setting.
2. Switch the communication unit on.
Voice amplification is turned on again.

Preparations before first use

1. If necessary attach the communication unit to the full face mask
(see chapter 3.2.1 on page 21 or chapter 3.2.2 on page 21).
2. Attach radio connection cable or Bluetooth adapter (see
chapter 3.2.3 on page 22).
CAUTION
!
During assembly work the specified torques must be
observed since the communication unit could otherwise be
damaged. Use suitable tool.
3.2.1 First attachment to a full face mask with connector P, RA,
PE/ESA
1. Remove the screw from the connection piece on the full face mask
if necessary.
2. Remove exhalation valve cover from the full face mask and attach
to the communication unit.
3. Remove cover from the full face mask.
4. For full face masks with P connection piece:
Insert button of the full face mask into the communication unit.
5. Fitting the communication unit to the full face mask:
a. For full face masks with connector PE/ESA (see Figure A):
i. Slide communication unit onto the connector parallel to
the top edge of the connector.

ii. Ensure that the top edge of the communication unit slides
underneath the visor frame and the fastening hooks hook
onto the fixing lugs on the communication unit and on the
visor frame.
A clicking sound can be heard when properly attached
(see Figure C).
b. For full masks with connector P or RA (see Figure B):
i. Hook the upper end of the communication unit over the
button or latch in the centre of the connector.
ii. Make sure that the upper edge of the communication unit
can slide under the visor frame.
iii. Press the lower edge of the communication unit onto the
connector until the communication unit snaps into the
fixing lugs of the visor frame.
A clicking sound can be heard when properly attached
(see Figure C).
6. Close exhalation valve cover and possibly secure in place with the
screw.
3.2.2 First attachment to a full face mask with connector RP
1. Unscrew the two screws (see fold-out page, position 6).
2. Loosen the screw on the rotary knob and pull off the knob.
3. Unlatch cover from the visor frame and remove from connector by
pulling upwards.
4. Hook the upper end of the communication unit over the button in
the centre of the connector (see Figure B).
5. Make sure that the upper edge of the communication unit can slide
under the visor frame.
6. Press the lower edge of the communication unit onto the
connector until the communication unit snaps into the fixing lugs of
the visor frame.
A clicking sound can be heard when properly attached (see Figure C).
7. Mount the rotary knob, then fasten the three screws
(recommended torque: 0.6+0.05 Nm).
