3.1

Before use

Before using the helmet for the first time, the employer/user must en-
sure the following (see European guideline 89/656/EEC):
the fit must be perfect, e.g. to ensure an absolutely tight fit,
the Personal Protective Equipment must be compatible with other
types of protection equipment worn at the same time
(e. g. protective jacket),
the personal protective equipment must be suitable for the prevail-
ing workplace conditions.
the Personal Protective Equipment must be suitable for the ergo-
nomic requirements and the state of health of the person wearing
the breathing protection equipment.
the mask/helmet combination needs to be carefully adapted to the
equipment wearer (correct mask size, retaining plate settings and
internal helmet components) due to the rigid structure.
3.2

Preparing the facepiece for use

The mask bodies are available in sizes S, M, L, inner masks in sizes
1, 2 and 3. In most cases, a facepiece of standard size M2 is used. If
leak tightness is a problem, a facepiece sized S or L should be used.
NOTICE
